Inje University Busan Haeundae Paik Hospital
Information
Inje University Paik Hospital began with the opening of Seoul Paik Hospital in 1932, followed by Busan Paik Hospital (1979), Sanggye Paik Hospital (1989), Ilsan Paik Hospital (1999), and Haeundae Paik Hospital (2010). Operating five hospitals with over 3,500 beds, the Inje University Paik Hospital Network has become one of Korea’s leading medical institutions—trusted for its patient-centered healthcare system and integrated network.
The establishment of Haeundae Paik Hospital marked a significant milestone in line with Busan’s transformation into a northeast Asian logistics hub and the growing demand for high-quality, differentiated medical services. The hospital has since become a new landmark of Haeundae, symbolizing advanced medical care and architectural innovation.
The facility features an open atrium and Hospital Street extending from Basement 1 to the 4th floor, providing a pleasant environment and intuitive wayfinding for visitors. Patient wards are designed with light wells and multiple dayrooms to ensure residential comfort, while rooftop gardens create a therapeutic healing environment. Together, these elements reflect a human-centered hospital design that harmonizes comfort, accessibility, and recovery.
