Seoul National University Bundang Hospital Extension
Information
Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (SNUBH), located on Gumi-ro in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, is an affiliated branch of Seoul National University Hospital. It was established to provide high-quality medical services to residents of southern metropolitan Seoul, centering around Bundang, and to serve as a national central medical institution specializing in adult and geriatric diseases.
Originally designed to accommodate 2,700 outpatients per day, the hospital experienced a rapid increase in demand, with an average of 4,600 outpatients daily by 2010, creating the need for an expansion.
As a result, a new wing was constructed—comprising three basement levels and ten above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 49,563㎡. The new building houses outpatient clinics, operating rooms, and a health promotion center on floors 1 to 5, while floors 6 to 10 accommodate 432 additional beds, expanding the hospital’s total capacity to approximately 1,300 beds and establishing it as a large-scale, advanced medical facility.
