Information

The origins of Konkuk University Hospital date back to May 1931, when the Central Social Medical Clinic (Sahoe-Yeong Jungang Silbi Jinlyowon) was established in Jongno 2-ga, Seoul, as a free and low-cost hospital founded through the efforts of the 33 leaders of the March 1st Independence Movement and other prominent figures.

To respond to rapid changes in the healthcare environment and provide high-quality medical services, the university began constructing a new 800-bed hospital building on its Seoul Campus site in 2002, which was completed and opened in 2005. The new facility, consisting of four underground floors and thirteen above-ground floors with a total floor area of 85,687㎡, is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and a fully computerized hospital information system.
