IKEA Dong-Busan Store
Information
IKEA opened its first store in Korea in December 2014, followed by the second store in Goyang in October 2017, and later the third store in Giheung. The fourth store in Dong-Busan, located within the Osiria Tourism Complex, began construction on November 1, 2018, under the project management of BAUM CM. As IKEA’s first store outside the Seoul metropolitan area, the Dong-Busan branch has drawn significant attention both within IKEA’s internal organization (Sweden headquarters and IKEA Korea) and among residents of Busan and the surrounding Gyeongnam region.
Leveraging its extensive experience in managing large-scale retail developments, BAUM CM participated in this project in a CM + CS (Construction Management and Construction Supervision) role. Our team provided comprehensive management across all project phases, covering architectural and interior design coordination, bid management, construction oversight, and quality control—ensuring the successful delivery of a globally recognized retail landmark in the region.
