Hanjin Daejeon Mega Hub HVAC Construction Project
Information
The Hanjin Daejeon Mega Hub HVAC Construction Project centered on implementing a spot cooling-based HVAC system tailored to the unique operational and large-volume characteristics of the facility. The system was engineered to handle variable peak thermal loads and extreme outdoor conditions, utilizing zonal controls for temperature, humidity, ventilation, and airflow across logistics automation zones, loading areas, offices, and support spaces. Through this approach, the project achieved both energy efficiency and optimal working comfort and safety.
BAUM CM provided end-to-end construction management, encompassing initial planning and consulting → load simulation and LCC comparison → basic and detailed design support with VE → procurement strategy development → construction CM (schedule, cost, quality, safety) → commissioning, performance verification, and O&M handover. To minimize operational disruption, nighttime and zone-based sequencing was applied, and interface issues were preemptively controlled, resulting in on-time completion and stable system start-up.
This project demonstrated BAUM CM’s specialized expertise in HVAC systems for large logistics hubs and fulfillment centers—addressing challenges such as high ceilings, large air volumes, localized heat sources, and outdoor load fluctuations. Standardized detailed design documents, control sequences, and inspection checklists were established, and integration with automation systems and fire/smoke control networks was successfully implemented, solidifying BAUM CM’s on-site technical know-how.
