Cymer Korea (ASML) Pyeongtaek Factory
Information
The Cymer Korea Pyeongtaek Factory Expansion Project was initiated to enhance the production and support capabilities of the semiconductor lithography laser equipment manufacturer. The project focused on maintaining operational integration with the existing facility while strengthening cleanroom environments, equipment transport logistics, and the reliability and scalability of specialized utilities, including power and HVAC systems. Key challenges included ensuring coexistence with ongoing operations, maintaining cleanliness standards, and coordinating equipment installation and commissioning schedules.
BAUM CM, as the Construction Manager, provided comprehensive management across all project phases—from planning and design to procurement and construction—covering schedule, cost, quality, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment). Through design reviews and value engineering, BAUM CM optimized process coordination and lifecycle costs, proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to equipment movement routes, cleanroom processes, and utility transitions. By implementing a master schedule-based control system, and standardizing contract, change, and stakeholder communication management, BAUM CM minimized decision lead times and ensured both schedule stability and commissioning quality.
