Haeundae LCT
Information
Haeundae LCT, a landmark in Busan’s Haeundae district, is a 101-story mixed-use complex boasting panoramic ocean views and excellent transportation connectivity. The development features a low-rise podium housing retail and entertainment spaces, along with luxury residences, a hotel, condominiums, a water park, an observatory, and exhibition facilities.
The architectural concept of Haeundae LCT embodies the image of “waves in motion”, expressed through elegant curvilinear forms. Inspired by marine organisms and the fluidity of ocean waves, the design reflects both the dynamics of nature and the contours of the Haeundae shoreline. The facades of the towers, based on circular geometric plans, interact with surrounding light in a range of tones and hues, while providing residents with panoramic ocean-to-sky vistas that merge seamlessly with the horizon.
The podium design integrates retail and entertainment elements at an urban scale, while allowing signage and functional components to blend naturally within the architectural composition. The podium accommodates approximately 300 retail units, including a water park, large conference hall, and lounges, with a location-based navigation system ensuring ease of access for visitors.
The three supertall structures — Tower A, Tower B, and the Landmark Tower — are arranged to maximize panoramic views over the surrounding landscape at every vantage point on the site. To highlight the distinct scenery of Haeundae, the towers adopt a non-traditional layout, breaking away to avoid standardized placement methods. Their design language emphasizes fluidity and organic form, replacing rigid box-type cores with a Y-shaped plan and gracefully curved transitions, resulting in a natural and dynamic skyline.
